There's a particular kind of magic in seeing a traditional Tamil wedding take place in Japan — the mandap, the silk, the chants, and around it, friends and guests from another part of the world watching a ceremony they'd never seen before. That was Dhanoosh and Akshaya's day, and we flew in from Chennai to film all of it. This is what destination wedding photography in Japan looks like when the wedding is unapologetically rooted in its own culture, and the place simply makes it bigger.
Two worlds in one room
The most moving frames weren't the grand ones — they were the quiet meetings of two cultures. Elders performing the rituals exactly as they would at home. Japanese guests leaning in, curious and warm. A South Indian ceremony, carried whole across the world and held with care.
Our job was to honour both: the precision of the tradition, and the wonder of the people seeing it for the first time.

Why hold an Indian wedding abroad
- Bringing your world to your people — when family and friends are spread across countries.
- A backdrop that makes the familiar feel new without changing a single ritual.
- An intimate guest list of the people who'll travel for you.
- A film that becomes the family heirloom.
What we bring
OOAK travels for weddings from Chennai — we've shot in Japan, Vietnam and the Philippines. We come as a small, mobile team that respects the ceremony, shoots candidly, and delivers a cinematic film plus colour-graded stills that feel like the day felt.
